FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Leucadia Hwy 101 Median Beautification ProjectPlant Parents Wanted in Leucadia LEUCADIA - Become a proud parent to one of the 1,501 new drought tolerant plants finding homes in the Coast Hwy101 medians between Glaucus and Cadmus Streets. A five-dollar donation will afford you one plant and a commemorative card. A fifty-dollar donation will adopt 10 plants and a one-of-a-kind sticker for proud placement in your home or business.
Leucadia 101 Main Street Association is working hand in hand with the city of Encinitas's Public Works to beautify Hwy 101 corridor. Donations will go to purchase planting materials and needed irrigation. Leucadia's 101 Main Street Association board member William Morrison has designed the plant palette design and Public Works will do the irrigation and plant installation. Median plantings reflect the plant palette planned to surround the Welcome to Leucadia sign on Hwy 101 at the north end of Leucadia.
To adopt a plant, contact Paula Kirpalani, 216 N. Coast Hwy, Encinitas, CA 92024, 760.436-2320, email: paula@leucadia101.com, download a copy of the sponsoring form here (PDF page), or find our booth at the Farmers Market at Paul Ecke Central School in Leucadia every Sunday between 10:00AM and 2:00 PM.
The Leucadia Hwy 101 Main Street Association is a non-profit organization that formed in 2003 and is dedicated to the historic preservation and revitalization of Leucadia's North Highway 101 Corridor. For more information, visit the Leucadia 101 Main Street website at www.leucadia101.com.
